The 85th edition is on its way! The Geneva International Motor Show: From March 5-15, 2015

The Geneva International Motor Show will take place for the 85th time from March 5-15, 2015 at Palexpo. The organisers have now opened the inscriptions process. In parallel, the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich Academy for the Arts) has been mandated for the creation of the official poster/graphic for the 2015 edition of the Show. In 2014 this event welcomed 250 exhibitors, 11,214 media representatives from all over the world, plus some 670,000 visitors out of which 30’000 where questioned for a survey. More than 150 world and European premiers were presented.



The organisers have now opened the inscription process for the 85th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show which will take place from March 5-15 at Palexpo. Exhibitors can now obtain their application documents at no cost from the general secretariat of the Motor Show (tanja.walther@palexpo.ch) and inscribe directly online.  The deadline for inscriptions is July 15, 2014.

The allocation of the stands will take place from now until next September, when the final allocations will be confirmed.  “The satisfaction of the exhibitors at the 2014 Motor Show and the fact that a number of marques have asked for additional space indicates that the 2015 edition will be even more in demand and auspicious.” according to Mr. Maurice Turrettini, President of the event.

Also taking place this month of June, the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich University of the Arts) has been mandated to create the official poster/graphic for the 2015 Motor Show.  Nearly twenty students from their Bachelor of Visual Communications programme will participate in this internal competition.  Last year the mandate was given to the Haute école d’art et de design – Genève HEAD (The Geneva Academy of Art and Design)The organisers of the Geneva International Motor Show want to offer a platform for and encourage the development of the next generation of designers and graphic artists.

In 2014, the Geneva International Motor Show registered some 670,000 visitors.  A survey of more than 30,000 visitors revealed that the number of non-Swiss visitors had achieved a new high of 48% since 2001 and re-emphasised the international nature of the Show.  The French were the largest group with 33% followed by the Italians (5%), the Germans (2%) and 90 other nationalities (8%).  Female visitors were also more numerous with a participation rate of 24% versus 19% in 2012.  81% of the visitors were between 18 and 54 years old. 46% attended with the intention of purchasing a new car. The Motor Show is not only a place to become familiar with the latest evolutions in automotive technologies and to see all the latest new models, but it is a totally entertaining event to attend as an outing.

The Geneva International Motor Show is the only international motor show recognised by the International Organisation of Automobile Constructors (OICA) that takes place every year in Europe and is a member of the «Top 5 » worldwide.
